Tim's Tiki'la Tuesday - Western Reserve Distillers
Historically, tiki cocktails were borne upon the back of rum. Then a little more rum. Then just a tad more rum. There were some juices in there somewhere too. Possibly a bit more rum for good measure. This has been the case across literally decades of tiki drinks, with some occasional exceptions that used gin or even whiskey. To an even lesser degree, a handful of tequila-based tiki cocktails also emerged across these rum-soaked decades. The Vicious Virgin cocktail arose in Tuscon, AZ in the 1960s, while another called the Yellow Boxer was launched at a tropical bar in Germany in 1981. Further "tiki-la" drinks came along in 1999, 2000, and as late as 2017. As part of our ongoing tribute to tiki culture, this particular "Tequila Tuesday" will feature each of these agave-inspired tropical creations. Join our tiki-centric drinksmith Tim Harnett on this special evening, and experience how changing up traditional sugar cane and molasses spirits for tequila can put a wonderful spin on a tiki drink. Please be advised, UBER would be a good thing if you are not within walking distance! These drinks pack a punch!
