The Second Annual Native American Foods Dinner

Sunday, October 6, 2019, 11:30 PM

The Native American Foods Dinner is sponsored by The Portage Path Collaborative. The portage between the Cuyahoga River and Tuscarawas River - the Portage Path - is the singular feature in Akron representing native peoples who used the portage in prehistoric times and tribal groups that resided here after European contact. This celebration is part of a weekend of activities commemorating North American First People's Day on the first Monday in October, as declared by the Councils of the City of Akron and Summit County. In attendance will be members of Northern Cheyenne, Choctaw, Seneca, and Onondaga Nations. Consistent with the multicultural nature of this event, alcohol will not be served and Kosher dietary laws will be observed. FOR MORE INFORMATION OR FOR OTHER PAYMENT OPTIONS, PLEASE CONTACT ALISA REINBOLT AT THE LIPPMAN SCHOOL: areinbolt@thelippmanschool.org or 330.836.0419 extension 403.
